About Urban Planning and Development Authority

TheUrban Planning and Development Authority was established under the royal decreeNo. (47) of 2017 issued by His Royal Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, theKing of Bahrain, in August 2017.

Priorto its establishment, urban planning in the Kingdom of Bahrain has undergone aseries of progressive developments, depending on the nature of the stage thatthe state has experienced since the early 1950s.

Vision

Achieving sustainable urban development for theKingdom of Bahrain.

Mission

Comprehensive land planning in line with theNational Planning Development Strategy (NPDS 2030).

Future Objectives

• Directing urban development in an orderly and harmonious manner.
• Building the urban future to support growth in various sectors.
