The great support and attention that the urban sector enjoys in the Kingdom of Bahrain from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, and the continuous follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Higher Urban Planning Committee, may God protect him has enabled the Urban Planning and Development Authority to implement many development projects and programs aimed at improving the urban situation and completing the blessed efforts in planning, zoning and sub-dividing lands which are in line with The Government’s Action Plan,  National Planning and Development Strategy 2030 for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the aspirations of the Economic Vision 2030.

Since the establishment of the Urban Planning and Development Authority in August 2017 by Royal Decree No. (47), it has been exercising its role in determining the optimal use of lands in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as defined by the initiatives of the National Planning and Development Strategy 2030 for the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was approved by His Majesty the King, may God protect him via Decree No. (36) of 2016, which came to outline the prospects for sustainable urban development in the Kingdom and clearly define the features of sustainable urban development growth for all regions of the Kingdom.

The great attention paid by our wise government to the urban planning sector makes it one of our priorities to speed up the process of completing the planning of all the Kingdom’s lands and to establish typical and integrated urban communities that support the growth and economic diversification of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The authority’s endeavors are also continuing to achieve electronic transformation in the service to upgrade the urban planning system and keep pace with the requirements of the current stage based on the speed of completion and quality of service, to achieve the directives and visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, to push government action towards further development, and in implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, as the authority’s website is an integrated platform that includes all information and laws related to the urban planning sector, in addition to various services provided to citizens, investors and government agencies.

Hence, I extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to all strategic partners from the public and private sectors for their fruitful efforts within the framework of cooperation and coordination to implement all initiatives and projects that achieve growth and prosperity for the Kingdom.

I also extend my sincere thanks to my colleagues as members of the Bahrain Team, who play the most important role in achieving the vision and aspirations of wise leadership, and we urge them to work together for the success of the urban planning system.
