 Mrs. Fatima Ibrahim Al-Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, participated in the work of the Second Gulf Housing Conference, which is being held in the sisterly State of Kuwait, on September 3 - 4, 2025, in implementation of the decision issued by the twenty-third meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers concerned with housing affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries last May.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness to enhance joint cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in a way that contributes to improving housing services by providing modern and innovative housing services that are consistent with the sustainable development goals, explaining that the Kingdom gives the social housing sector priority and attention through the goals and priorities set by the government's program.
During the dialogue session of senior housing officials in the GCC countries, which was held on the sidelines of the conference entitled "Sustainable Housing Models in the GCC Countries", Al-Mannai reviewed the efforts of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to implement the royal directives to accelerate the pace of housing projects to provide fifty thousand new housing units, in addition to the Ministry's plans and efforts to diversify and increase the real estate stock in the Kingdom in a way that contributes to providing suitable housing for citizens and enhancing partnership with the private sector.
Al-Mannai said that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning launched a number of new programs and initiatives to enhance cooperation with the private sector, which raises the quality of housing services and contributes to accelerating the pace of citizens' access to suitable housing, noting that a number of programs were launched during the conference and exhibition on innovation in the social housing sector, which was organized last April.
During the dialogue session, Al-Mannai reviewed the details of the modern housing programs, which are represented by the «Ambitious» program, the «Off-Map Sale» program for beneficiaries of government land development rights program projects, and the «Private Land Development Rights» program, in addition to launching the second version of the «Bayti» real estate platform, which comes with additional features and advantages, in addition to launching the "Tasheel+" financing In addition to the package of financing options provided by the Ministry to obtain immediate financing to obtain housing, which is financing the facilitation, benefits and advantages of the newly created category, stressing that developing and creating housing programs in partnership with the private sector comes within the framework of continuous efforts to provide innovative and immediate solutions to obtain housing.
In the same context, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning confirmed that the Ministry is working in partnership with a number of government agencies to implement the Muharraq development project in a way that preserves its historical and cultural identity, which includes providing housing units that meet the aspirations of Bahraini families who are planned to return to live in the city of Muharraq, as work is underway to implement and restore 300 new and restored units in the first phase and to transform into 2,000 units for future projects in partnership with the private sector.
