Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, signed the Executive Program Agreement in the fields of housing and urban planning with her Jordanian counterpart, His Excellency Engineer Maher Hamdi Tawfiq Abu Al-Samn, Minister of Public Works and Housing and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Corporation for Housing and Urban Development, which stipulates strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries and exchanging experiences in the housing, urban and urban planning sectors. 
This came during a meeting between Her Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and her Jordanian counterpart this morning at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in the Kingdom of Jordan, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Khayat, CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority, Her Excellency Eng. Balsam Ali Al-Salman, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs, and a number of officials. 
This agreement comes within the framework of exchanging experiences and cooperation in various fields of housing and urban planning, including exchanging knowledge in the field of regulating the real estate market and involving the private sector in providing social housing projects.
Minister Al-Rumaihi stressed that the executive program agreement will contribute to enhancing bilateral cooperation, exchanging experiences, and benefiting from leading Jordanian expertise in the housing sector, in line with the Ministry's plans to develop its mechanisms in providing housing services to citizens and developing infrastructure and urban infrastructure. 
The bilateral meeting of the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning with her Jordanian counterpart witnessed a review of the paths of plans and programs to provide housing services to citizens in both countries, in addition to plans for urban and urban planning and development, and the most prominent successful experiences in this field.
The Minister also provided an explanation of the Ministry's plans, which are based on enhancing the role of the private sector in providing housing services to citizens, through the housing financing program, which has provided thousands of housing services to citizens in recent years, in addition to the government land development rights program, which has contributed to accelerating the pace of providing housing units to beneficiaries of financing services.
The Minister also reviewed the latest developments in the Muharraq City Development Project, which is one of the largest urban development projects witnessed by the Kingdom, and is being implemented by many government agencies. It aims to revive old areas and preserve their historical identity, noting that this project represents a unique experience, and that the work team looks forward to completing the first phase to evaluate this experience and generalize the positive results to the rest of the project phases.
For his part, His Excellency Eng. Maher Hamdi Tawfiq Abu Al-Samn, Minister of Public Works and Housing and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development, expressed his happiness at signing the joint executive program agreement with the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the growing urban development witnessed by the Kingdom, especially in the social housing sector, which reflects government movement and work to achieve further progress for the benefit of citizens. 
In a related context, Her Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning made a field visit to the heritage city of Salt, and was briefed on the efforts made to preserve the city through restoration and development work to preserve the historical heritage buildings, which contributed to preserving the historical and cultural identity of the city, noting that the Muharraq City Development Project, which is witnessing an acceleration in completion and development work, has a similar experience and goals to the efforts made to preserve the heritage city of Salt.
During the field tour of the city, expertise and experiences were discussed and exchanged in the field of preserving heritage and historical cities in a way that serves the Muharraq city development project, which comes in implementation of the high royal order of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him.
At the conclusion of the field tour, the Bahraini delegation praised the Jordanian experience in preserving the city of Salt as a heritage and archaeological city, which contributed to its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021.
