Her Excellency Ms. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, received, in her office at the Ministry, Dr. Ayman Al Hafnawi, Head of the Country Program and Representative of the United Nations Human Settlements Program in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
During the meeting, Her Excellency Minister Al Rumaihi reviewed the Kingdom of Bahrain's efforts to develop plans and programs that contribute to achieving development goals in the housing sector, in addition to the paths the Ministry is working on to provide adequate housing for citizens through innovative housing plans and programs.
Minister Al Rumaihi also discussed enhancing joint cooperation and exchanging experiences with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, which would contribute to unifying efforts with the aim of improving sustainable urban development, in addition to the upcoming programs that the United Nations Human Settlements Program seeks to achieve.
In turn, Dr. Ayman Al-Hafnawi, Head of the Country Programme and Representative of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, reviewed the new plan of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme for the years 2025-2026, which aims to achieve a better urban future through comprehensive strategies that focus on comprehensive physical planning, sustainable urban financing, and effective governance.
Dr. Ayman Al-Hafnawi praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in implementing urban development strategies and providing adequate housing for citizens through developing housing programs and policies, stressing the importance of continuous communication in a way that contributes to the exchange of expertise and experiences in order to achieve the desired goals.
