The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning won the Arab Government Excellence Award 2025 in the category of "Best Initiative to Zero Bureaucracy", for its initiative "Integrated Electronic Housing Services", as part of the Ministry's efforts to implement a comprehensive digital transformation plan and electronic connectivity with various entities related to housing services provided to citizens.
The Ministry was crowned with this award during a ceremony honoring the winners of the Arab Government Excellence Award, which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Government Excellence Award, and His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
On this occasion, Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, confirmed that the Ministry's winning of the Arab Government Excellence Award 2025 in the category "Best Arab Initiative to Zero Bureaucracy" represents a new achievement for the Ministry's efforts in implementing the comprehensive digital transformation plan and electronic connectivity with various entities related to housing services provided to citizens, in line with the axis of government performance and digital transformation in the government program 2023–2026.
Minister Al Rumaihi explained that this victory came as a result of the success of the ministry's strategy to build an integrated electronic system based on digital integration with 11 government and private entities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which brought about a qualitative shift in the quality and efficiency of services provided to citizens, contributed to raising the level of data accuracy, reducing reliance on paper documents, enhancing transparency in housing decision-making, and simplifying steps by providing unified and easy-to-use digital services for all Pointing out that the honor is a new milestone in the Ministry's path towards advancing the housing sector, and proof of the Kingdom of Bahrain's ability to continue modernizing its government system in line with global developments and the requirements of the next stage.
The award was received from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning by Ms. Donia Faisal Sarhan, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Information, and Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Thawadi, Director of the Information Technology Department.
It is worth noting that the category of the best Arab initiative to reduce bureaucracy is a new addition within the current session of the award with the aim of stimulating the building of agile and flexible government capabilities away from lengthy procedures.
