Ms. Fatima Ibrahim Al-Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, met with Mr. Wang Liwen, General Manager of CMEC China, which is responsible for implementing the Sitra Housing City Project, Mr. He Jinsong, Vice President of CITIC Bank of China, and a number of officials from CMEC and the bank, on the occasion of the completion of the project in its second phase, in the presence of Engineer Balsam Ali Al-Salman, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs at the Ministry.
During the meeting, the housing projects being implemented in partnership between the two sides were followed up, in addition to the developments of the second and third phases of the Sitra Housing City project. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing praised the efforts made in implementing the first phase, which included 1,077 housing units, and the second phase, which included 531 housing units, according to the specified schedule and in accordance with the quality standards and required requirements.
Al-Wakil Al-Mannai stressed the need to continue working at the same pace to accelerate the implementation of housing units in the third phase, which includes 1,269 housing units, with the aim of delivering them to beneficiaries as quickly as possible. Opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the two sides to implement new housing projects included in the government land development rights program were also reviewed.
Al-Wakil Al-Mannai pointed out that cooperation with Chinese companies contributes to enhancing the benefit from global expertise and applying advanced models in infrastructure and housing projects.
For its part, the Chinese company CMEC expressed its deep thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for the support throughout the implementation of the phases of Sitra Housing City, stressing its full commitment to implementing the third phase of the project with the required quality and professionalism standards and according to the specified timetable.
For its part, CITIC Bank of China expressed its appreciation for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning's support for the Chinese company CMEC during the project implementation stages, stressing the continuation of providing financial support to the company to implement the project for all stages and working to support housing services development projects that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is working on.
