The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the adoption of a new regulatory procedure requiring the automatic renewal of certificates of entitlement for housing financing for an additional period of three months, for all certificates that expired during the months of March and April of this year, without the need for beneficiaries to carry out any additional procedures or reviews.
The Ministry explained that this regulatory measure comes within the framework of its keenness to continue enhancing the flexibility of procedures and facilitating the mechanism for beneficiaries to complete the requirements for obtaining housing financing, especially in light of the current exceptional circumstances, in a way that ensures the continuity of procedures and enables beneficiaries to benefit from housing financing services with ease and smoothness in the event that the certificates expire during this period.
The Ministry confirmed that the scope of this measure includes a number of the most prominent financing programs, including the «Tas'heel» program in its various types, and the «Tas'heel +» program, in addition to the «Mazaya» program in its two types, which are the immediate options provided by the Ministry to facilitate citizens' ownership of housing through supported and facilitated financing solutions.
She explained that automatically extending the validity of the certificates will contribute to giving beneficiaries an additional period of time sufficient to complete the procedures related to choosing a housing unit or meeting the requirements of the financing agencies, which will enhance the efficiency of benefiting from housing programs and reduce any procedural challenges that citizens may face.
The Ministry also indicated that this measure reflects government efforts towards simplifying services and adopting digital solutions and proactive measures that place citizen needs at the heart of the development process, stressing its continued review and updating of policies and procedures in line with best practices and keeping pace with changes.
