Her Excellency Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, received His Excellency Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, on the occasion of his participation in the 24th meeting of the Committee of GCC Ministers Responsible for Housing Affairs, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, Minister Al Rumaihi welcomed the GCC Secretary General and praised the role of the GCC General Secretariat in supporting joint Gulf cooperation in the housing sector and strengthening coordination and cooperation among member states. She noted that these efforts contribute to the exchange of expertise and experiences and to the development of joint housing initiatives and programmes.
The ministerial meeting is discussing a number of topics and issues of common interest as part of the GCC states’ continued efforts to advance housing cooperation, benefit from successful experiences and practices across member states, and strengthen integration in programmes and initiatives related to social housing.
The GCC Secretary General’s participation coincides with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the fourth Gulf Housing Week, which serves as a platform for exchanging expertise and experiences and showcasing modern initiatives and solutions in the housing sector, with the participation of GCC ministers, senior officials, experts and specialists.
The accompanying events also include the second edition of the Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition 2026, which showcases the latest trends and innovative solutions in social housing, as well as the role of strategic partnerships and the banking and real estate sectors in supporting the development of housing solutions and enhancing the exchange of expertise and experiences among GCC states.
