Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, stressed the importance of the pivotal role played by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in enhancing the contribution of Bahraini youth to the comprehensive development process, praising the qualitative programs and initiatives implemented by the Ministry that contribute to empowering youth, consolidating their presence in formulating future policies and advancing national development paths.
This came during the reception of Her Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Her Excellency Mrs. Rawan bint Najib Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, a number of officials in the ministry and the youth team participating in the "Counselor Live" initiative. During the meeting, a detailed presentation was given of the most prominent visions and proposals related to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, which were formulated by the participants based on the outcomes of the dialogue session that brought together a number of ministry officials and a group of young people.
Al Rumaihi said that the ministry is working to enhance awareness of immediate housing services, which are represented by housing finance, by implementing a package of initiatives and programs, represented by the Mobile Branch of Housing Finance initiative, 6 versions of which were held in a number of shopping malls in various governorates, in addition to events and lectures held in cooperation with government and private agencies.
The Minister explained that since the launch of the new financing programs in 2022, most notably "Tas'heel" and "Mazaya – New Category," these programs have contributed to enabling citizens and youth to obtain immediate and flexible solutions in cooperation with commercial banks.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning noted the distinctive and qualitative ideas presented by the participants, which contribute to supporting the housing process, noting that the Ministry will carefully study all proposals and work to develop housing programs and services that achieve the aspirations of citizens, especially young people.
For her part, Her Excellency the Minister of Youth Affairs confirmed that the "Counselor" initiative is launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs, with the aim of listening to the voices of youth and empowering them from various sectors. She also expressed her deep appreciation for the keenness of Her Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning to listen to the ideas and proposals of young people regarding housing, appreciating the enthusiasm of young people and their initiative in presenting visions that reflect their awareness and will to participate constructively. Saada stressed that this cooperation enhances the empowerment of youth and enables them to provide realistic solutions that keep pace with current challenges with an innovative and practical youth vision.
Her Excellency the Minister of Youth Affairs explained that the "Counselor" initiative constitutes an essential element within the system of services provided by the Ministry, as it is concerned with providing a national platform for young people to participate in discussing ideas and submitting development proposals that support the work of government institutions, and are formulated with a pure youth vision that reflects the ambitions and aspirations of the new generation towards a more advanced future.
