Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing, participated in the Fourth Arab Ministerial Forum for Housing and Urban Development entitled “Towards Resilient Cities Resilient”, with the participation of 22 Arab countries, which was held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on behalf of the Minister of Housing today, December 14.

During the forum, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing stressed the importance of what was presented through the exchange of experiences with heads and members of Arab delegations and experts participating in the activities. mankind for 3 consecutive days.

Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa indicated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to international conventions with regard to urban development, as it was the first country in the Gulf and the fourth in the Arab world, and 21 globally out of 195 member states of the United Nations in submitting its national report in which it reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts in implementing the plan. He added that Bahrain has made remarkable progress in implementing the plan represented in major development projects in all fields, and was able to implement a clear and integrated national strategy that was based on the visions and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the tireless efforts of His Majesty the King. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Undersecretary of "Housing" indicated that the aim of this forum is to achieve a balance between the resources and capabilities of cities and the challenges they face, including the development of national urban policies, programs and plans in support of urban development.

On the sidelines of the forum, a number of events related to housing projects and urban development were organized, in addition to an exhibition of the best experiences and practices of countries and governments and innovative technologies in the field of construction.

At the conclusion of his statement, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa expressed his thanks to the United Nations Human Settlements Program for the efforts and expertise provided by the program and for the technical support provided by the support team to make the forum a success, including the host country.
