Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain participating in the opening session of the second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly, held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, from 5 to 9 June, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Bahrain Center for Strategic Studies Derasat, in the presence of His Excellency the Kenyan President William Ruto, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program Maimuna Sharif and members of the General Assembly.

The speeches of the opening session included the most prominent topics to be discussed by the second session of the UN-Habitat Assembly, developments in efforts to implement the implementation plans of the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, opportunities and challenges related to this matter, and an emphasis on the importance of cooperation between government agencies, international organizations and civil society organizations in order to achieve these goals.
