Al-Mannai added that the event is aimed at enabling Bahraini youth to contribute to the development of innovative solutions and options to provide social housing services to citizens The event precedes the organization of an induction day prior to the conference at the headquarters of the Institute of Public Administration for the Rehabilitation and familiarization of young people with the idea of the laboratory and the basics of design thinking on which the idea of hackathon is based, The event will bring together creative young university students, graduates and entrepreneurs to work within multidisciplinary teams to create innovative and viable ideas that contribute to diversifying residential options and improve citizens' experience in housing, and achieve effective partnership with the private sector to ensure the development of practical prototypes based on the application of design thinking tools s aspirations and supports sustainable development trends in the social housing sector.
Al-Mannai asserted that the Hackathon Innovative Housing Solutions Laboratory targets the 18-35 age group of university students, graduates and entrepreneurs, at an average of 18 hours of learning, and that all projects submitted are evaluated by a joint committee of the Ministry, the Housing Bank and the Institute of Public Administration.

Al-Mannai explained that the aim of the Hackathon Innovative Housing Solutions Laboratory is to achieve excellence in the social housing sector by adopting innovative housing strategies and solutions that contribute to improving quality of life and sustainability and stimulate youth initiatives by supporting innovative solutions to housing challenges and teamwork in a positive competitive environment; In addition to developing youth cadres and focusing on developing participants' skills and enhancing their innovation capabilities, thereby contributing to building qualified national competencies.
It is worth mentioning that the Conference on Innovation in the Social Housing Sector brings together selected relevant parties, local, regional and international experts The conference sessions will include exchanges of experiences on the most prominent designs and innovative techniques in construction, The private sector's investment opportunities for the development of the social housing sector, as well as the integration of society's requirements into the implementation of social housing programmes and services, Strengthening legal mechanisms and regulatory procedures in this housing model Social housing sector as well as the intelligent exploitation of land spaces to provide sustainable urban communities.
A number of ministers and senior officials from government and private sectors from inside and outside Bahrain participate in the conference. In addition to the participation of selected international speakers specializing in the social housing sector to enrich the conference's themes, The exhibition contains more than 30 suites for government agencies, commercial banks and real estate development companies.
