Her Excellency Ms. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, held a number of bilateral meetings with heads of delegations, ministers and senior officials participating in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum «WUF13», held in the Azerbaijani capital "Baku" during the period from May 17 to 22, during which she discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and exchange experiences, policies, projects and innovative housing programs in the social housing and urban planning sector.

The meetings of Her Excellency Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi included bilateral meetings with His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al Haqil, Minister of Municipalities and Housing of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed bin Mubarak Al Shaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Engineer Randa Al-Minshawi, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, and His Excellency Engineer Mohammed Al-Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy, Infrastructure and Transport of the United Arab Emirates In addition to Her Excellency Ms. Anaclodia Rosbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
Discussions during these meetings focused on reviewing prospects for cooperation in the fields of sustainable urban planning and development of housing services, and the goals, themes and discussions included in the World Urban Forum sessions that contribute to enriching national housing policies and supporting countries' efforts to implement the goals of the New Urban Agenda and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

 Topics related to regulating the real estate sector and granting the private sector a major role in the system of providing new housing services were also discussed, whether through housing projects implemented in cooperation with governments, or providing housing financing to citizens, as well as increasing the real estate stock to accommodate the growing demand for housing services.
Her Excellency the Minister reviewed the work paths of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning aimed at implementing the royal directive to accelerate the implementation of housing projects and provide 50,000 housing units. These paths include continuing to implement ownership services projects in housing cities, implementing partnership projects with the private sector through the Government Land Development Rights Program and the Private Land Development Rights Program, As well as providing various financing options through the housing financing program provided by the Ministry in cooperation with the Housing Bank, the Minister also touched on the urban development projects implemented by the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain to develop historical and cultural areas, most notably the Muharraq City Development Project and the Manama Souq Historical Area Development Project.

During the meetings, views were also exchanged on the best practices followed internationally to confront the challenges of urban growth and develop infrastructure to ensure the quality of life for future generations.
