Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Housing Bank, announced the organization of the second edition of the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector, during the period from September 29 to October 3, 2026 at the Bahrain World Exhibition Center, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Housing Bank In cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Minister Amna Al Rumaihi said that organizing the second edition comes within the framework of the ministry's plan to implement the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, and in continuation of the positive results achieved by the first edition of the conference and exhibition, which contributes to introducing housing financing services and programs, which witnessed wide participation from officials in the public and private sectors and specialists in the housing and real estate sectors In addition to the participation of real estate companies and commercial banks in the accompanying exhibition.
Her Excellency explained that the Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition is gaining a Gulf dimension in its second edition this year, as it is being held in conjunction with the Kingdom of Bahrain hosting the twenty-fourth meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies and Highnesses the Ministers Concerned with Housing Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in the presence of Their Excellencies and Highnesses the Ministers Concerned with Housing Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The Minister pointed out that the coincidence of these Gulf events with the conference and exhibition provides a platform to expand the exchange of housing expertise and experiences between the GCC countries, and to learn about the most prominent projects and practices in the social housing sector, which contributes to enhancing aspects of Gulf cooperation and integration in this vital sector.

She added that the exhibition accompanying the conference will include a pavilion dedicated to the participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, through which the participating countries will showcase their projects and experiences in the housing sector, allowing visitors and specialists to view various Gulf housing models and projects, and enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the parties concerned with the housing sector.

Minister Al Rumaihi pointed out that the second edition of the conference represents an advanced step towards building on the outcomes of the first edition, by presenting a number of axes that focus on innovation in developing financing solutions, enhancing the role of the private sector as a major partner in implementing housing projects, in addition to expanding the adoption of the concepts of smart cities and integrated urban communities, optimal utilization of land, and developing regulatory and legislative frameworks that support the social housing sector In addition to allocating a hub for urban development projects and reviving areas with historical and heritage identity.

Minister Al Rumaihi stated that the conference will witness broad participation from officials, experts and specialists from inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to representatives of the public and private sectors, to constitute a platform for exchanging expertise, reviewing best practices and experiences, and discussing future challenges and opportunities in the social housing sector, in a way that enhances the sustainability of this vital sector and supports comprehensive development paths in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The accompanying exhibition is also scheduled to witness wide participation from real estate companies, banks and financial institutions, to showcase the latest housing projects and financing programs, in addition to presenting various financing solutions and options, which will contribute to informing citizens of the available options for obtaining suitable housing.

For his part, Mr. Abdullah Taleb, General Manager of the Housing Bank, stressed that organizing the second edition of the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector reflects the keenness to continue developing the partnership system between the public and private sectors, and providing a platform that brings together the various parties concerned with the housing, real estate and financing sector, which contributes to exchanging visions and experiences and reviewing solutions and initiatives that support the development and sustainability of the social housing sector.
